The plan this week was to see Cooper Pratt (SS, MIL), write him up, and have him as my lead prospect for this week’s article. A chance of showers throughout the game had me shift about an hour and 15 minutes south to Rome, which was hosting the Pirates' High-A affiliate. A timely promotion meant my trip to Rome included my first live look at Konnor Griffin (SS/OF). A potential mid-season Top 10 prospect isn’t a terrible get for me.

The College World Series begins on Friday, June 13, with Coastal Carolina and Arizona kicking off the event at 1pm EDT. The entire eight-team series lasts until either June 22 or 23 and will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2, or ABC, depending on the day. All players are eligible for the 2025 draft unless noted. Players are generally listed in the order of their fantasy potential. A fantasy prospect overall top 10 (regardless of draft class) appears at the end of this article.

Last week, I brought you scouting reports on two A-Ball players who quickly climbed up prospect ranks this spring. This week, as I patiently wait for Biloxi, the Double-A Brewers affiliate to come to town, I’m working with a “If it isn’t broke, why fix it?” mentality and going back to the A-Ball well to profile two more up-and-coming A-Ball prospects for additional video reports.

Freddy Peralta's Horizontal Release Point ChangedPeralta maintained a slightly higher vertical release point in 2024 and 2025. However, his horizontal release point moved over eight inches away from his midline. The release point changes should theoretically impact Peralta's pitch movement profiles, resulting in a significant change in 2025. Over the past two seasons, Peralta raised his vertical release by nearly 3-4 inches when compared to 2021 through 2023.

Plate Discipline and Batted Ball ApproachLars Nootbaar (OF, STL) battled injuries (back, thumb, rib, and oblique), causing him to miss around 50 days per season over the past two years (2023-2024). Nootbaar's skills teased us with the plate discipline and power, though the volume wasn't there. If healthy, we should see career-best counting stats across the board.
