LOGAN — Utah State University's College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is now accepting applicants for its inaugural class of vet school students this fall. USU announced the news in late March, after receiving a letter of reasonable assurance from the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education (AVMA COE), indicating the college is on track to receive accreditation. There are less than 35 accredited veterinary programs in the United States.

LOGAN — Utah State University plans to discontinue 14 academic programs, including the entire theatre program in Price, as it begins the next step in its strategic reinvestment plan to cut costs, according to an email sent out to employees on Friday. A week ago, USU announced it would be consolidating five colleges into two, in its first step to address the budget shortfall in funding from the Utah State Legislature.

LOGAN - As of Wednesday, the Trump administration has revoked the visas of nearly 50 international students at seven different Utah educational institutions; 20 of them are University of Utah students and recent graduates. Utah State University has confirmed the revocation of International students’ visas but did not disclose the number of students other than to say a “very low” number of USU students are affected.

RICHMOND — The Cache Community Food Pantry is receiving a $20,000 boost from The Campbell’s Company and The Campbell’s Foundation, which recently awarded $920,000 in Community Impact Grants to 46 nonprofit organizations across North America. The pantry, which serves individuals and families throughout Cache Valley, was nominated by employees of the Pepperidge Farm plant in Richmond.
