The Bucks overcame a 1-5 start to the season to hoist a Division 3 district championship trophy after defeating Brandywine 7-2 in the semifinals and routing River Valley 16-0 Saturday in the championship game. Buchanan is 24-7 since the slow start and head coach Rachel Carlson said the team’s rigorous schedule leading up to the tournament has paid off in a big way.

The Niles Community Dental Health Center, which is moving two miles from its current location at 122 Grant St., will occupy 4,500 square feet in the west wing of Cass Family Clinic’s Niles facility. Construction began in March. The facility is expected to open in September.

Conner Weston, 19, competed in the U22 Masters Bowling Tournament May 23-26 in Allen Park. The U22 Masters is a national four-day bowling tournament where 160 athletes –ages 18-22 – from all over the country bowl on the official PBA Masters oil pattern. The tournament is held in exactly the same format as the PBA pros bowl.
