A metro Chicago native, Pope Leo XIV – the first American Pope – attended high school in Allegan County at a minor seminary run by the Augustinians. He has also celebrated Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Edwardsburg and St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Niles in March 2014.

Whitmer announced Thursday morning that both the Chapin Mansion Restoration and the Fort St. Joseph Archaeology Project were among seven Michigan preservation projects awarded Governor’s Awards for Historic Preservation during a ceremony hosted by the State Historic Preservation Office.

The win gives the Bobcats (7-1 LAC) their second-consecutive LC title. Tuesday night, Brandywine defeated Dowagiac 9-3 in the opening game as Hudson Aalfs and Emerson Gogley combined on a five-hitter with nine strikeouts.
