    Actor George Wendt (George Robert Wendt Jr.) who played Hilary Norman “Norm” Peterson in the television show Cheers, died in his sleep on May 20. He was 76 years old. He was one of only three actors who were in all 275 episodes of the show from 1982 to 1993. (Ted Danson and Rhea Perlman are the other two.) He died 32 years to the day after the final episode of Cheers.

    I didn’t use a doula when I gave birth. Back then (2012 and 2015), I had the impression that a doula was a nice-to-have, and not compatible with the labor and delivery I planned, which included a hospital and an epidural. In retrospect, after talking to doulas like Heather McCullough, of Evanston’s 312Doulas, I think a doula would have helped me tremendously, not just during the birth but especially after, with support and help at home.
