The Earls in east Regina is more than just a restaurant these days. It has also become the nesting ground for a Canada goose that has laid seven eggs in front of the building. General manager, Sarah Groff, said she first learned of the nest through a co-worker, last month. “I was actually working at the south location that week for meetings and I got a message from the manager running my store that there is a goose with an egg in the front planter. It happened really quickly.

Scott Eashappie – the chief of the Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation who faces charges of fraud, money laundering and breach of trust – was due back in provincial court this week. Eashappie had his appearance at Indian Head provincial court waived by his defence counsel Tuesday, with his lawyer appearing by phone. The courtroom was a crowded venue with both supporters of the embattled chief and concerned band members in attendance.

Officials across Saskatchewan are assessing the forecast after fire crews battled grass fires over the weekend. A large plume of smoke could be seen from Regina’s north end on Saturday near the Uplands neighbourhood. Security officials at the Co-op Refinery and an area resident told CTV News its believed a train sparked the fire.

Youth and young adults can make their mark on a piece of art for the month May in Regina. An art exhibit called “Make Your Mark” at the George Bothwell Branch at Southland Mall, officially opened Friday. The exhibit is in partnership with the Dunlop Art Gallery and Ranch Ehrlo Society. “This is our fourth year doing the program, So basically this is everything we’ve finished within the year,” said Dustin Ritter, an arts facilitator with the Ranch Ehrlo Society. Ritter is the lead on the project.

The man accused of first-degree murder in Regina’s third homicide of 2025 made his first appearance in provincial court Monday. Thirty-three-year-old Keli Stonechild appeared over the phone as Judge Lane Wiegers read him his charge. Stonechild’s charge stems from an incident east of Regina’s downtown on Thursday, April 24.
