Cosmopolitan is a global fashion magazine aimed at women. Originally launched in 1886 in the United States as a family magazine, it evolved over the years into a literary magazine before fully transforming into a women's magazine in the late 1960s. Often referred to as Cosmo, the magazine covers a variety of topics, including women's issues, relationships, sex, health, careers, personal development, celebrity news, fashion, and beauty tips, with content as of 2011. Published by Hearst Magazines, Cosmopolitan boasts 64 international editions, is available in 35 different languages, and is distributed across more than 110 countries.
