Becky Cash (R-Zionsville), said the effort cleared at least one hurdle in the legislative session. Cash introduced HB 1413 in January. The bill would have provided grant funding to law enforcement to test the 600- to 800-kit backlog. The bill passed the Indiana House unanimously but stalled in the Senate appropriations committee in March.
