Medicine Hat News
On October 29, 1885, the inaugural edition of the Times, which later became the Medicine Hat News, was printed using a small hand press. While it's not definitively proven, many believe that the first building housing the newspaper was located in a boxcar at 525 North Railway St. Thanks to the entrepreneurial efforts of two individuals from Ontario, teacher Thomas Braden and printer Andrew Armour, Medicine Hat gained its very own newspaper. This publication served as a community advocate and a voice for southeastern Alberta, and even after 125 years, it remains a trusted source of news for local residents, covering everything from local events to national and international stories.
