Waiting continues for Congressional action on the farm bill and other aspects of the next federal budget. Divvying up funds in the next federal budget and what that means for farm conservation programs seems to be on hold, said Brian Feldpausch, a Grundy County farmer and vice president with the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. “Their goal (previously) was to see the Senate bill done by July 4,” Feldpausch said.

Iran’s limited response to the United States’ weekend bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities initially added little impact to world grain markets, analyst Jack Scoville with Price Futures Group said June 23. “If that’s it, we’ll stay fine and go on our way and hopefully they will, too,” Scoville said. The retaliation probably won’t impact grain markets “a whole lot,” he added. “There’s always the tariffs and the big beautiful (budget) bill” that remain potential factors for grain markets, he said.
