Officers are struggling to find a wanted man from Cheltenham they wish to speak to about shoplifting incidents and an allegation of malicious communication. Jamie Pockett, aged 44 and of Millbrook Street, is described as being 6ft tall, of a slim build and with short brown hair. Gloucestershire Police said: "Pockett has links to Cheltenham including The Moors, St Paul's and Hesters Way areas. He is also known to cycle around on a bike and often wears dark coloured clothing.

A crash has closed a major road through the Cotswolds this morning, Thursday, June 26. The collision took place on the A429 Stow Road, near Stratton, north of Cirencester. Google Maps is reporting that the road is closed in both directions. It is showing that the road closure is near Welsh Way, near Hog Roast Cirencester.

A Gloucester city centre “eyesore” will be secured to stop people from trespassing and further vandalising the building. Several people have complained to Gloucester City Council over antisocial behaviour and unauthorised access to the vacant Spread Eagle Court in Northgate Street. And City Council officers have now inspected the privately-owned building and found several hazards and forced entry points.

The scrapping of a popular police scheme which “saved children from a life of crime" has been blasted as a "betrayal" amid calls from a leading Cheltenham civic chief for the decision to be reversed. The Aston Project, a community focused initiative that identifies at-risk young people and links them with resources or activities within their communities, was set up in 2011 and renamed after the late neighbourhood police constable Lynn Aston.
