Ohnmacht owns a career best jump of 48-3. The 39-athlete elite flight at 11 a.m. Sunday showcases 20-and-under triple jumpers. Ohnmacht has captured the Kansas 5A triple jump with 47-11/2 and 47-31/2 marks the past two years. The triple jump will be aired (runnersspace.com) on the internet.

    BY JIM [email protected] — The Great Bend Panthers will be represented by No. 50 Owen Kaiser in Saturday's 7 p.m. Kansas Shrine Bowl at Dodge City. Panther offensive tackle Kaiser was a 2-way player who accounted for 43 tackles defensively.     The Great Bend City Council will be asked at the Monday, June 16 meeting to approve the purchase of a mobile unit that can incinerate illegal narcotics collected by law enforcement, as well as a drug drop box to place in the lobby of the Great Bend Police Department. Police Chief Steve Haulmark is on the agenda seeking approval to purchase a Drug Terminator and a drop box from Elastec for $7,570.

    No Kings rallies took place Saturday at locations across the United States, including outside of the courthouses in Barton and Pawnee counties. The Great Bend event in Jack Kilby Square drew an estimated 175 protesters and about a dozen counter-protesters. The rally/protest was sponsored by the Barton County chapters of the League of Women Voters and Women for Kansas. Great Bend Police Department officers were on hand and the event remained peaceful over its 90-minute duration and beyond.
