HealthCentral
HealthCentral is a privately held online health platform based in the United States, established in 1999 by a doctor specializing in emergency medicine. In 2005, the company was acquired by a consortium of venture capitalists, including Polaris Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, The Carlyle Group, and Allen & Company. That same year, Christopher M. Schroeder was appointed as CEO to lead the company. In 2008, InterActiveCorp made a notable minority investment in HealthCentral, encouraging the original group of investors to reinvest in the company during this funding round.
