Ipsos Group S.A. (pronounced in French as [ip.sos]) stands for "Institut de Publique Sondage d'Opinion Secteur." This global market research and consulting firm is based in Paris, France. Established in 1975 by Didier Truchot, who serves as the Chairman, Ipsos has been listed on the Paris Stock Exchange since July 1, 1999. Over the years, particularly since 1990, Ipsos has either launched or acquired several companies. A significant milestone occurred in October 2011 when Ipsos purchased Synovate, which helped the company become the third-largest research agency in the world. As of 2014, Ipsos operates in 88 countries and has a workforce of 16,530 employees.
