Wednesday has marked the hottest day of the year so far across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas, as temperatures peaked in the upper 80s to low 90s. Unseasonably warm and breezy conditions will linger into the evening with southeast winds at 15 to 25 mph and partly sunny skies. A 10% to 20% chance of stray t-storms arrives between 8 PM and 11 PM as a front passes through the area. Most will stay dry, with the best chance for an isolated thunderstorm north of HWY-36 to the Iowa border.

Above average temperatures and mostly sunny skies will prevail across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas through the work week. Wednesday is forecast to be the first 90 degree day of the year so far, before temperatures fall back into the low to mid 80s Thursday and Friday. Partly to mostly sunny skies Tuesday evening will give way to clear skies and a slow cool-off overnight. Lows will fall into the mid 60s after midnight with light southeast winds at 5-10 mph.
