After two months of watching the NBA playoffs from the sidelines, the Chicago Bulls finally will be back in the action Wednesday night with the No. 12 pick in the NBA draft. Luck didn’t fall their way in the draft lottery, denying them a shot at high-profile players such as Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper.

Hailey Van Lith doesn’t want to worry about her role. The Sky rookie arrived in Chicago with simple expectations of spending her debut season learning the point guard position behind veteran Courtney Vandersloot. But those plans fell apart within weeks when Vandersloot suffered a season-ending torn ACL on June 7 that disrupted the entire roster. In the immediate aftermath, Van Lith seemed poised to step into the primary point guard role far earlier than she — or the Sky staff — expected.

Midway through the third quarter of Tuesday’s collapse against the Washington Mystics, the Chicago Sky barely could get the ball over the half-court line without committing an error. Rachel Banham failed to step forward into a pass from Ariel Atkins, allowing Sonia Citron to snag the ball from midair. Kamilla Cardoso bobbled an entry pass off her chest and into the hands of Stefanie Dolson.

The Chicago Bulls aren’t making major changes anytime soon. The roster might see some mild overturn this summer as the Bulls add a rookie with the No. 12 draft pick Wednesday, June 25, 2025, and shop several players in potential trades. Ariel Atkins is not a big. In this post, I am talking about rim finishing by bigs. That is why I wrote "rim finishing from their bigs" in the original post. Because I am talking about rim finishing. By the bigs.

Y’all gonna put some respect on Ariel soon watch and actually you can’t win any games if we can’t guard the 3 to save our life teams are shooting record breaking numbers from behind the arc against us.

I know this is shocking but sometimes the statistics are a reflection of what is occurring on the basketball court

The Sky took only 21 attempts behind the arc in that loss to Phoenix. They went 0-for-5 from 3-point range in the fourth quarter. Two of those attempts were desperation heaves in the final minute.
