FORT FRANCES – An OPP officer with a keen eye helped keep an impaired driver off the highway in Fort Frances. According to a release issued on Thursday, an officer in the area witnessed a person displaying an unsteady gait leaving a licensed establishment at midnight on April 14, subsequently getting behind the wheel of a vehicle. The officer stopped the vehicle and demanded a roadside test, which the driver failed.

SIOUX LOOKOUT – A call for unwanted people at a local hotel led police in Sioux Lookout to lay an impaired charge against a 47-year-old Thunder Bay woman. OPP, in a release issued on Friday, said they arrived at the hotel on April 11, just after 11 a.m., and found an intoxicated individual in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle.

KENORA -- A 22-year-old Kenora woman faces a charge of mischief after she allegedly threw a brick through a church window. Ontario Provincial Police say the received a call at about 7 p.m. on April 15, notified that the accused had thrown a brick through the window of the house of worship and was trying to gain entry. Police located the suspect, who resisted police direction as she was being placed under arrest.
