The friendly international saw Heimir Hallgrimsson offer Kasey McAteer and Jack Taylor their first starts in green, and the former repaid the manager with the opening goal in the 21st minute and a man of the match performance.

    Today, 120 new gardaí graduated from the Garda College in Templemore, bringing the strength of the force to over 14,300 sworn members.     Two company directors in Northern Ireland have been jailed for their roles in running one of the largest illegal dumps in Europe. A judge at Derry Crown Court today described their actions as an environmental crime on an industrial scale. The vast Mobuoy dump outside Derry is thought to cover more than 100 acres of land, or the size of about 70 football pitches. It is located beside the River Faughan, which supplies a large proportion of Derry's drinking water.
