Wilmington's 35th annual Earth Day Festival will be held on April 26th at Long Leaf Park from noon to 6 p.m.The festival will feature live music, food trucks, environmental exhibitors, and family-friendly activities. Patrick Yarn Mills in Kings Mountain, NC, will close permanently by the end of 2025. The closure will result in the loss of 173 jobs, with layoffs occurring in phases. The reason for the closure was not disclosed in the WARN notice to the state.
