Marty Freeman, president and chief executive officer of less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier Old Dominion Freight Line (ODFL), recalls that at this time last year he felt somewhat optimistic. A new report from MHI and Deloitte found that 90% of companies are planning to invest more than $1 million in supply chain technology this year, an increase of 24% over last year. Impressively, 38% of businesses plan to spend more than $10 million, up 19% from last year.
