Ashley Nation says she’s proud that Senate Bill 181 was signed into law by Gov. Beshear. The Oldham County resident, along with help from State Sen. Lindsey Tichenor, was the driving force behind a bill requiring school districts to implement a traceable system for all electronic communication between students and school employees or volunteers. Nation stepped up as a citizen to draw attention to the problems of grooming between staff and students that can be overlooked.

This summer, my church is doing a sermon series about the Ten Commandments. The pastor team titled it “Thou Shalt,” as opposed to “Thou Shalt Not,” because even though most of the commandments begin with a negative (“Don’t do this”), there’s always a positive aspect to all of the commandments.

And, for the second straight year, the Torch Run has made a stop in Bullitt County en route to the state Special Olympics competition in Richmond. Trevor Ford, a member of the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office, said it was an honor for the law enforcement community to run the torch throughout the state.
