    NEWTON COUNTY – A Covington man has been arrested after a gun was pulled at the Salem Road Walmart on Sunday. The Newton County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Jaylen Douglas on Monday after police say he pulled a gun on another customer during a verbal dispute. According to the NCSO, the weapon was not discharged and no injuries were reported. Both individuals then left the store, with no arrests made until today.

    NEWTON COUNTY – No injuries were reported after a gun was pulled at the Salem Road Walmart over the weekend. On May 4 at approximately 8:50 a.m., deputies with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) responded to an “isolated altercation” between two male customers inside the Salem Road Walmart in Covington. According to the NCSO, one of the individuals pulled out a firearm during the confrontation. However, the weapon was not discharged and no injuries were reported.

    NEWTON COUNTY — A 12-year-old middle school student faces several charges after he allegedly brought an airsoft BB gun on a school bus. According to a news release from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, the student — who was only identified as a male student at Clements Middle School — entered the school bus and hid the airsoft BB gun under the seat before exiting the bus at his school. The NCSO said that the gun “closely resembled” to that of a real Glock.
