    VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN)—St. Aloysius Junior High School baseball team wrapped up their season last week. The Flashes finished with an overall 15-7 record where they went on four and five-game winning streaks with their seventh and eighth graders. At the start of the season back in February, the junior high squad began things with a doubleheader victory over East Rankin Academy. They won 13-5 and 8-7. By mid-season, the Flashes traveled across the bridge to Tallulah Academy to win 15-0 and 14-9.

    DAYTON, OH. (VDN) — Warren Central Indoor Percussion had an extremely successful 2025 season. The team competed in the WGI World Championship over the weekend in Dayton, Ohio, earning a top-twenty slot in the world. Over the first two weeks of April, hundreds of ensembles sought to claim a world championship title in the scholastic and independent divisions, beginning with Color Guard competition from April 3-5.

    DELHI, LA. (VDN) — On Sunday, April 13, 2025, shortly before 1 p.m., troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop F began investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash in Delhi, La. on U.S. Highway 80 just east of Louisiana Highway 609. The crash claimed the life of 1-year-old Amella Kyles of Bastrop. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 27-year-old Shanice Kyles, was traveling east on U.S. Highway 80.

    VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN)—Vicksburg High School power lifter LeAndrew Drake finished second at the state meet last month. Drake lifted in the 181-pound weight class, where he bench-pressed 285 pounds, squatted 580 pounds, and deadlifted 530 pounds. The junior athlete was able to experience his first time at the state meet after much training and preparation to compete with the best. “It was fun and I was ready,” Drake said.

    TALLULAH, La.(VDN)—The Tallulah Academy baseball team picked up two wins in a doubleheader against Wilkinson County Christian on Friday night. The Trojans won 13-4 and 5-4 to improve to 13-10 on the year. A huge fourth inning where TA scored 10 runs helped them run-rule WCC.
