WGN (720 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station located in Chicago, Illinois. Its studios are situated on the 18th floor of 303 East Wacker Drive in the bustling Chicago Loop. WGN features a news and talk format, and it also broadcasts games for the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team, as well as football and basketball for Northwestern University. This station is unique as it is the sole radio outlet owned by Nexstar Media Group, a company that mainly focuses on television station ownership. From 1924 until 2014, WGN was under the ownership of Tribune Media, which also owned the Chicago Tribune. The station's call sign, WGN, was inspired by the newspaper's slogan, "World's Greatest Newspaper."
