CHICAGO — Summer is coming early, Chicago — at least for a few days. The hottest, most humid air of the season will envelop the city Thursday, said WGN meteorologist Bill Snyder. He predicts the city will hit 92 degrees — a record high. The previous record for May 15 is 91 degrees, set in 1962. The moist air will create an unstable atmosphere, Snyder said. “That could set the stage for some nasty storms for parts of the area in the afternoon,” he said.

CHICAGO — Clocks across Chicago will “spring forward” one hour Sunday morning, setting in motion the annual bemoaning or celebrating of the start of Daylight Saving Time. The instant jump from 2 a.m to 3 a.m can and even slow metabolism or cause cluster headaches, according to Northwestern Medicine. But the hour move immediately basks Chicago in more late afternoon daylight. Saturday’s sunset is 5:49 p.m. Sunday’s sunset 6:50 p.m. The city’s first 7 p.m. sunset is Tuesday, March 18.
