An Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly set a home on fire during the early morning hours back on April 9th, while his infant child, the child's mother and her parents were inside, according to a joint release from Utica Police and the Oneida County Sheriff's Office. The woman and her family were able to escape the home without injury.

One of the Corrections Officers charged in the beating death of inmate Robert Brooks has pleaded guilty on Monday in Oneida County Court. 36-year-old Christopher Walrath pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and as a result, will receive 15 years in state prison. The plea deal vacated a second-degree murder charge that Walrath was facing. He'll be sentenced on August 4th.

Police in Frankfort are investigating a stabbing at the Amazon facility in the Route 5-S Business Park in Frankfort. Police say the incident happened at around 3:15 a.m. Sunday when an employee was stabbed in the face by another person yielding a knife. The victim was treated at Wynn Hospital in Utica. The extent of the victim's injuries is unknown at this time. Frankfort Police are investigating and say details will be available soon.
