Utica Police, with assistance from the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, used everything at their disposal to make sure a 13-hour standoff on the 1000 block of West Street in the city ended without injury. Utica Police say at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16th, units were dispatched to 1013 West Street regarding a menacing with a long gun complaint.

Education finance expert Dr. Rick Timbs says a late New York State budget puts school districts across the state in a very tough position. Timbs is the Executive Director of the Statewide School Finance Consortium in Syracuse and is President and owner of R. G. Timbs Inc. of Whitesboro. He explains that school districts, by regulation, must make their budget public before the end of April and they rely on the state budget to finalize their own budget.

Oneida County District Attorney Todd Carville says he has decided to present another case to a Grand Jury against Kaitlyn Conley regarding the poisoning death of her boss, chiropractor Mary Yoder. Conley, who has spent seven years in prison for the manslaughter conviction in the death of Yoder, was released on a technicality back on February 4. If indicted, this would be the third time Conley has had to defend herself in regards to the death of Yoder.
