Mike Smith, a community volunteer, said he always volunteers to help his Germantown neighbors after intense storms, especially older homeowners unable to do the work. “There’s going to be stuff longer limbs hanging and limbs broke out, trees split,” said Smith.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Miami Valley is under an enhanced risk of severe weather throughout Wednesday evening. Meteorologists they are closely monitoring the Dayton region over the next several hours. Their biggest concerns for safety are strong winds and heavy rain. “As those intense winds move through the region, you do not want to be outside at that time,” said Ashley Novak, National Weather Service meteorologist in Wilmington.

CARLISLE, Ohio (WDTN) — Customers of a private membership association are demanding answers from local officials after a popular farm was ordered to shut down Tuesday. The Farm on Central in Warren County is under a temporary restraining order from selling food as a business without a license. The county is accusing the group of operating an illegal retail food establishment. Local residents in Carlisle say the Farm on Central is their only option for healthy food and fresh produce in their area.

Gunshot detection drones and license plate readers are part of the new technology DPD wants to bring into three West Dayton neighborhoods. 2 NEWS spoke with community members who say they are hopeful this program will reduce crime. “We can’t expect officers to be everywhere at all times,” said Tasha Rountree, Wolf Creek Neighborhood Association president.
