Anybody is lucky to have him be a part of their community.”That’s how Andrea Stephens describes her friend, 38-year-old Ancil Carruthers. Stephens and her husband, Brad, have known Carruthers, his wife, Natalie, and their three children, ages 17, 12, and 11, for more than a decade. 38-year old Ancil Carruthers is a husband and father of three.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Simple dietary changes could help cut down risk of dementia, according to several studies presented this week at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in Philadelphia. FSU assistant professor Julie Sheffler teaches in the university’s College of Medicine, and presented a paper at this week’s conference. Her paper showcased research on nutrition education and it’s impact on brain health.

MADISON, Fla. (WCTV) - With a full police escort, Madison County K-9 deputy Archer is coming home almost a week after he died in the line of duty. K-9 Archer died last Friday at UF Small Animal Hospital in Gainesville. He was transferred there for emergency medical support the night before, just hours after he fell ill while tracking a suspect. On Thursday, a motorcade will bring K-9 Archer from Gainesville back to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Madison County Sheriff David Harper shared the news of K-9 Deputy Archer’s passing. Deputies said 6-year-old Archer was hospitalized after getting overheated while playing an important role in capturing a suspect Thursday. It all started when several deputies were dispatched to pursue a man who allegedly ran away from a traffic stop, WCTV reported.
