A Portage County resident is suing Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski over retaliation he says he's faced since creating a Facebook page about the sheriff last year. Will Lane of Newton Falls created "The Bad Bruce Exhibit" Facebook page in April 2024. He frequently posts about alleged corruption in the sheriff's office and campaigned for Zuchowski's opponent in the November election, as well as for other Democrats running for countywide seats.

Akron-Canton Airport unveiled its new three year strategic plan Wednesday, including retaining and attracting air service and strengthening the airport's financial health. The airport wrapped up its previous five year strategic plan in 2024, which included a gate modernization project, upgrading terminal Wi-Fi and expanding air service from four nonstop destinations to a record setting 22, Akron-Canton Airport President and CEO Ren Camacho said.

The Ohio Senate passed a bipartisan bill Wednesday that could ban ranked choice voting in the state. Senate Bill 63 would allow cities and counties to still utilize the election model, but the state would penalize them by banning them from receiving Local Government Fund money. The bill is now headed to the House. So what is ranked choice voting? Ranked choice voting is an election model that allows voters to rank candidates by preference on their ballots.

A Northeast Ohio nonprofit which investigates fair housing violations may have to shut its doors before the end of the year after losing nearly all of its federal funding. The Fair Housing Resource Center investigates cases of housing discrimination and offers an array of housing support services in Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake and Trumbull counties.
