PITTSFOD, N.Y. (WROC) — A movie theater inside Apple Cinema in Pittsford Plaza was left a mess by rowdy teens the other day – an act that appears linked to the growing trend driven by social media. A moviegoer posted photos of the aftermath on Facebook and told News 8 the group of 15 or so teenagers stayed relatively quiet for much of the wildly popular A Minecraft Movie until they erupted in noise during one scene, throwing buckets of popcorn and spilling their drinks around the theater.

(WROC) — Wednesday, Lynn Girolamo could be found at Paddy Hill Elementary doing what she does all the time: visiting schools throughout the Greece Central District to help kids navigate the pervasive and ever-changing digital world. It’s part of a mission she picked up years ago. “We do have a lot more research now that tells us in the last 10 years kids that already have high anxiety or depression can really succumb to challenging parts of social media,” she said.
