SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! We have some wonderful weather on tap today in the form of sunny skies and little to no cloud cover…but there’s a catch: It’s going to be rather hot and windy. We’ll be challenging record highs today across KELOLAND. Here’s a look at some records to beat today:With air temperatures in the 90s, dew points in the 30s/40s, and winds gusting upward of 30 to 40 mph at times, we do have fire weather concerns in place.

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Once again, we have been treated to a wonderful day to get outside, but I will also say this much: This will likely be the “coolest” day that we see until the week after next. While we didn’t have much to worry about in terms of active weather, we have at least seen some cloud cover today across KELOLAND. That, along with a more easterly wind, has helped keep temperatures in check just a little bit compared to yesterday.

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Another day, another round of well above average temperatures for a majority of KELOLAND. The exception is out west, where clouds and cooler temperatures have been in place. Beyond a few isolated showers and a rumble of thunder or two, much of the night is shaping up to be mainly quiet with clouds beginning to make their move into KELOLAND. The wind backs off a bit overnight as well.

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Our summer preview picked up where the weekend left off…complete with above average temperatures and a southerly breeze that kept the warmth in place. While that’s valid for most of KELOLAND, we do need to keep an eye on western and northwestern South Dakota. They’ll be the exception to the rule, as scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible as we head later into the evening and into the first part of the night.

One of the greatest comebacks in sports history. It's honestly up there with the '04 Red Sox...and maybe even better because of how they were down 3-0 in Game 7. Strangely, none of my Bruins friends in college wanted to talk to me that night. 🤔🤔🤔

That was fun!
