BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — Harrisburg claimed a pair of wins Friday night, knocking off Brookings 11-6 and 6-3. The Tigers improved their record to 14-2 on the season. Strikeouts were an issue for both teams in the second game of the double header. Just nine runs were scored and out of the 42 total outs, 31 were recorded via the strikeout.

BROOKINGS, S.D. (SDSU) — South Dakota State completed multiple rallies and eventually found a way to earn a 6-5 victory over South Dakota on Thursday, May 8, in the second round of the Summit League Softball Championship at Jerald T. Moriarty Field. The Jackrabbits defeated the Coyotes after a lengthy 13-inning game to advance into the winner’s bracket of the conference tournament. SDSU held a 1-0 lead through the first innings thanks to a stellar start by Jackrabbit pitcher Tayler Baker.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AUGUSTANA) — The Augustana bats were alive and well on Thursday afternoon, taking down Wayne State 25-4 at The Birdcage. The 25 runs are the most in NSIC Tournament history. With the win, the Vikings (38-14) move onto the finals of the winners bracket where they will face top-seeded Minnesota State at noon for the chance to reach the NSIC Championship game. The Wildcats (30-21) will play tonight in an elimination game.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MINNESOTA STATE) — The Minnesota State Mavericks exploded offensively to secure a dominant 14-5 win over Sioux Falls on Thursday afternoon at Ronken Field, advancing to the third round of the NSIC Tournament. After a slow start, the Mavericks quickly turned the momentum in their favor. Sioux Falls struck first with a three-run home run off the bat in the top of the second inning. The Mavericks came back in the bottom half of the inning with four runs of their own.

MAGNOLIA, Ark. (AUGUSTANA) — In a 10-inning marathon of a game, Augustana softball collected a 2-1 win against Missouri Southern State in its opening matchup of the NCAA Tournament after scoring two unanswered runs on Thursday afternoon at Dawson Field. The Vikings will await the results of game two in the Central Region 2, facing the winner between host No. 2 seed Southern Arkansas or No. 7 seed Harding at 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

USD defeats SDSU in eight. Coyotes on to the championship game

Final (8): USD 3, SDSU 2 The Jackrabbits fall in their 3rd extra-inning game of the Summit League tournament to close out their postseason appearance.

For the second straight day, SDSU plays into extras, but today's goes the opposite direction of the Jacks. They'll play USD in an elimination game soon.

Final (9): Omaha 8, SDSU 6 We will play in an elimination game against USD with 1st pitch in a half hour.
