Prior to the final game of the six-game series, Erie had outscored Akron 26-16. LHP Ryan Webb toed the rubber for the RubberDucks and kept the SeaWolves off the board, including a two out, bases loaded jam in the third, through 4.2 innings pitched. Webb ended the afternoon with two hits, no runs, four walks, and five strikeouts.

Friday night the Cleveland Guardians announced they had acquired RHP Scott Barlow from the San Diego Padres in exchange for RHP Enyel De Los Santos. This comes on the heels of the announcement the team traded Cal Quantrill to the Colorado Rockies. De Los Santos, 27, spent two seasons with the club. He owned a 10-2 record with a 3.18 ERA across 120 relief appearances with 123 strikeouts and 42 walks for Cleveland.
