    Akron, OH — Canal, ParkThe Akron RubberDucks took the field looking to snap a 4-game skid with the Erie SeaWolves on Sunday afternoon. Prior to the final game of the six-game series, Erie had outscored Akron 26-16. LHP Ryan Webb toed the rubber for the RubberDucks and kept the SeaWolves off the board, including a two out, bases loaded jam in the third, through 4.2 innings pitched. Webb ended the afternoon with two hits, no runs, four walks, and five strikeouts.

    AKRON, OH — Canal ParkWelcome to Akron baseball — where Wednesday night’s ballgame featured a funnel cloud looming just beyond the outfield wall, and Thursday’s game brought sunshine that blew in 70 degree temps into Canal Park. The Akron RubberDucks were facing the Erie SeaWolves for their third game in a best-of-six series, with each team having already claimed a win by shutout. 25-year-old Tommy Mace toed the rubber for Akron, coming in with an ERA of 1.80 and 0.80 WHIP through 10 innings.

    Friday night the Cleveland Guardians announced they had acquired RHP Scott Barlow from the San Diego Padres in exchange for RHP Enyel De Los Santos. This comes on the heels of the announcement the team traded Cal Quantrill to the Colorado Rockies. De Los Santos, 27, spent two seasons with the club. He owned a 10-2 record with a 3.18 ERA across 120 relief appearances with 123 strikeouts and 42 walks for Cleveland.

    Stephen Vogt was officially introduced as the new manager of the Cleveland Guardians on Friday afternoon. Within the first few minutes of taking the podium, it was clear through his emotions the gratitude he felt for the opportunity to join the Guardians organization as Terry Francona's successor. Vogt thanked not only those who welcomed him to the organization, but also his family and children for going on this next great adventure with him.
