Renfrewshire Council confirmed an extension had been granted for the works to continue (Image: Newsquest) The temporary prohibition of waiting and loading on a route in Renfrew has been extended. Restrictions are currently in place on Porterfield Road and will remain in situ until Friday, May 30. This is to allow for Scottish Power to carry out works. Renfrewshire Council has confirmed the extension.

The closure will be in place for over a week (Image: Newsquest) A road in Renfrew is set to close for over a week next month. The junction of Ness Road to 1 Vennacher Road will be shut from Monday, May 12 until Wednesday, May 21 to allow Scottish Water to carry out essential repair works. Alternative routes will be available via Ness Road, Kirklandneuk Road, and Leven Square, and vice versa. Renfrewshire Council has confirmed the closure.

Liam Doyle of United Bar won the competition after defeating Jeff Ng from Atlantis A in the final. Other accolades were also awarded as Joe Condran and Michael Newton won the Blind Doubles, defeating Susanna McGimpsey and Ronnie Clarke.

Dumbarton FC were plunged into financial trouble in November last year amid unpaid debts, and officials announced they had been left with "no option" but to appoint Quantuma, a business advisory firm, to manage the administration process.

Elderslie residents have been experiencing issues for over two months (Image: Stock photo) Elderslie Community Council has claimed that hundreds of local residents have been without a regular phone signal for over two months. The disruption follows damage to an O2 phone mast – managed by Vodafone – located on the town’s golf course, caused by Storm Eowyn back in January. Since then, locals have experienced intermittent or, at times, completely absent mobile phone reception.
