The telecommunications provider has been consulting the council over the planned scrapping of 13 phone boxes. The service has so far removed 6,000 phone boxes over the last two years in the UK from their previously 20,000-strong fleet, as they blame a 'huge' decline in the usage of payphones. Research from the company found that 98 per cent of the population use mobile phones.

West Coast Motors has had to divert its 15 and 17 services as it warns some passengers may not be served after it was announced that the A810 Duntocher Road will shut. The closure will commence on Sunday, May 18 and is estimated to last until Sunday, June 1. We previously reported how the main route between East and West Dunbartonshire will close from the boundary between the council area to the road's junction with Peel Glen Road.
