HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WIAT) — Homewood police are conducting an investigation after a pedestrian was struck Friday afternoon. Authorities say a woman was crossing the street at the intersection of Roxbury Road and Oxmoor Road, when she was hit by a FedEx truck around 12:15 p.m. The woman was taken to the hospital with “serious injuries.”The road has since been reopened. Adrienne Holderby, 86, was injured when the Honda Accord she was driving was struck by a GMC Sierra around 1:45 p.m. Holderby was pronounced dead at the scene.

VIDEO: Authorities arrest Tennessee man hiding in attic Adrienne Holderby, 86, was injured when the Honda Accord she was driving was struck by a GMC Sierra around 1:45 p.m. Holderby was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 280 near the 17 mile marker.
