After more than 36 hours of searching, Regina Smith, the 51-year-old woman who went missing at Noccalula Falls, was found dead Tuesday morning, according to the city of Gadsden. “The fire chief contacted me, let me know we had a body in the water. Emergency crews are searching for a missing 51-year-old woman who was camping and last seen at Noccalula Falls in Gadsden on Sunday, according to reports from ABC 33/40. The woman, Regina Smith of Lincoln, Alabama, was last seen on a raft near the fall’s beach area, according to reports from WVTM 13. “She’s a loving person. She loves nature. She’s a free-spirited person, and I just want to find her,” her husband, Jerry Smith told WVTM 13. The family called first responders around 8 p.m. Sunday.

On Thursday, May 29 aT 6:30 p.m. Alabama Aerospace and Aviation High School in Bessemer will host its first graduation ceremony since opening its doors in 2022. CEO and founder Ruben Morris said the school was created to expand access to careers in aviation and aerospace through hands-on opportunities in science, technology, engineering and aviation. It is the first school of its kind in Alabama.
