    LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A well-known historic home in central Laredo that houses a community garden now needs serious repairs. The Canseco House on Chihuahua Street has been fenced off after being deemed unsafe by city officials. According to Laredo City Council member Melissa Cigarroa, both the city’s risk management team and engineering department determined the structure is not safe. She says the issue started with a roof leak that was never properly addressed.

    SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KGNS) - A bishop named by Pope Leo XIV is asking priests in Southern California to stand with migrants by attending immigration court hearings, the Diocese of San Diego said. Auxiliary Bishop Michael Pham sent a letter to local priests on International Refugee Day, urging them to go to federal court buildings in San Diego on Friday, June 20. He said their presence would offer moral support to migrants appearing before the court.
