(WEAU) - As the weather warms up outside, the box office is continuing to heat up with three new films playing this weekend!This week’s Silver Screen Spotlight takes a look at the horror film “Clown in a Cornfield”, action/thriller “Shadow Force”, and romantic musical “Juliet and Romeo”. The Downtown Cinema is also closed for the Mother’s Day weekend, but it will reopen next week with the documentary film “Show Me Your Glory”.

(WEAU) - It’s the first weekend of May which means it’s time to kick off the summer movie season!This week’s Silver Screen Spotlight takes a look at the first big summer blockbuster of the year, Marvel Studios “Thunderbolts”, along with the new western film “Rust”. All proceeds from the theatrical run of “Rust” will be going towards the family of Halyna Hutchins, a cinematographer who was tragically killed in an on-set accident during the filming of “Rust” in October 2021.

(WEAU) - The Easter holiday weekend is full of family fun and a few scares at Micon Cinemas!This week’s Silver Screen Spotlight takes a look at the new films “Sinners”, “The Wedding Banquet”, and “Sneaks”. Micon is also holding its 3rd annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Oakwood Mall on Saturday morning. The free event begins at 10 AM, and will be followed at 11 AM by a screening of the animated film “Hop”, with tickets for the showing being just $3.

TOMAH, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Nathan Deming is a filmmaker from Tomah who’s in the middle of an ambitious project. He wants to shoot 12 films in Wisconsin set in each month of the year. Demming explains, “Shooting here is so much fun, there’s so much collaboration.in LA, if you threw a rock, you’d hit a film crew making something and people don’t care, but in Wisconsin there’s kind of this, there’s creative people everywhere.”He’s got January and February down and is prepared to direct 10 more films.

Nathan Deming is a filmmaker from Tomah who’s in the middle of an ambitious project to shoot 12 films in Wisconsin set in each month of the year. “Shooting here is so much fun, there’s so much collaboration,” Deming said.

Tickets are also on sale now for “The Chosen: Last Supper - Part One”, which will be opening at Micon in Chippewa Falls and at the Downtown Cinema in Eau Claire next Thursday.
