DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A local non-profit has placed its 2,000th service dog. 4 Paws For Ability held the milestone ceremony on Friday at Young’s Jersey Dairy in Yellow Springs. Service dog Letty is one of 11 dogs with their violet class. Letty is paired with a child with autism. The organization was founded in 1998 and places over 120 service dogs annually. All of these dogs are trained with specific tasks and skills that impact children and veterans who have disabilities.

NEW CARLISLE, Ohio (WDTN) — A business owner in New Carlisle has donated $4,000 to purchase extra cameras for school buses for increased safety measures. Tecumseh Local Schools will soon be able to equip their buses with cameras to capture anyone who passes them at a stop and hold them accountable. The cameras will be installed in the front and side of the bus. Dave Closey, owner of Park Layne Sunoco made the donation to the school.

Leaders of a massive project to revamp the 675 interchange at Grange Hall Road are seeking feedback before breaking ground. Solace at Vivian’s is named after the owner’s mother, Vivian, who struggled with depression, mood swings and heavy drinking while raising her three children alone. “Mental health is near and dear to my heart. A lot of children are victims of issues with their parents or things they’ve been exposed to and they don’t get the help they need.
