MCPHERSON, Kan. (KSNW) – Someone’s trash is another’s treasure. The ReUse It Center is offering a twist to the old saying. “Not everybody can get out there and afford new stuff,” said Curt Deneke. WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – There are over 1,000 kids in the Kansas foster care system. For decades, Youth Horizons has offered up homes to help them heal. “They’re very scared at first. They don’t know who to trust,” said Jennifer Isaacs, director at Wren House at Youth Horizons. Wren House is one of two residential programs offered by Youth Horizons for children in the foster care system. The other is the Kinloch Price Boys Ranch. “It’s definitely not your typical group home,” Isaacs said.
