Good morning, Seattle — City Editor Gabe here. Is it okay if I get a little sentimental? This is my last article at SEAtoday. Cue Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road.”Soon I’ll be off to do food writing at the Infatuation — but I’m going to really miss our daily chats about the fun events, scintillating news, and wacky stories that could only happen in the Emerald City. You all were the best part of my day.

Here we go again, hoop dreamers. There’s been another round of “the Sonics are coming back” excitement this week after pointed comments from some VIP fans. During his State of the City address, Mayor Bruce Harrell that he stands “ready to do whatever it takes to bring back the green and gold.” Since the NBA is already playing preseason games at Climate Pledge Arena, he thinks the city seems primed for a Sonics return and would add the item to his Downtown Activation Plan.

Slip on those rubber boots and dig this — razor clam season in Washington is in full force. Anyone who’s been to esteemed Seattle seafood joints like Taylor Shellfish and Salty’s on Alki know the magic of razor clams. The meaty mollusks are larger than your typical Manila clam, with a subtle flavor profile between briny and sweet. Razor clams are so popular that Washington lawmakers are considering making it the official state clam (sorry, geoduck lovers).

Sad to announce that today is my last day with the @NOOGAtoday team. I feel so humbled by all of the people I've met and the stories I've told during my time working here. I've grown so much here in such a short amount of time because of it. Thank you, everyone, for reading.

Working on an article with @NOOGAtoday about some archaic laws @CouncilChatt got rid of Tuesday and I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on them. Did you know we had them? Glad they're gone? Think they're funny? Let me know! Check the thread for the laws.
