    MEDINA- The City of Medina is planning to celebrate the solar eclipse in April with a weekend full of activities ranging from educational and kid friendly to fun for adults. The eclipse will be in our geographical area on April 8 from 1:58p - 4:28p. Barbra Dzur, Economic Development and Marketing Manager, spoke to City Council on Monday about the plans that are in the works for the special event. "We are now an eclipse ambassador. We were recognized by the Great Lakes Science Center," said Dzur.

    MEDINA - City and county officials have been working over the last few years on court related projects. At this week's finance meeting, council members discussed an Architect Design Services Agreement for the 1969 Medina Municipal Court Remodel. In October, the city formed an Architect Review Committee to help assist them in hiring an architect for this remodel project.

    MEDINA - The Medina School Board recently met to discuss their new five-year forecast and their projected financial plan. Treasurer David Chambers stated that the projected beginning cash balance for the upcoming fiscal year is $39,972,849 and the projected ending cash balance is $30,819,813. The general fund revenue is projected at $85,016,906; general fund expenditures are projected at $94,169,942 and the projected loss for the year are -$9,153,036.

    MEDINA - The City of Medina has just announced the opening of their EV charging stations which are located on the ground floor of the City Hall parking deck in the southwest corner of the garage. The ground floor of the deck can be accessed from the parking lot next to Sully's Irish Pub at 117 West Liberty Street or next to City Hall at 132 North Elmwood Avenue.

    MEDINA - On Monday, Medina City Council held their last meeting of 2023 which also served as Councilman Bill Lamb's last meeting as a council member. Lamb has had a long and diverse career in Medina and the surrounding area. He was formerly a teacher at Ella Canavan Elementary School and worked as a newspaper reporter among other things. He served as Mayor of Medina from 1982-1990 and was the youngest mayor in Ohio.
