BROOKHAVEN, GA — An Atlanta man accused of being a serial arsonist and burglar in Brookhaven and Atlanta is now facing several charges, police said Monday. Brookhaven Police said officers have arrested Dillon Welch in connection to a string of burglaries, vandalism incidents and arson incidents. The alleged crimes occurred between April 11 and April 29, mostly in the Executive Park and Buford Highway corridors, police said.

POWDER SPRINGS, GA β A 17-year-old Dallas boy is dead after a fight escalated to a stabbing Sunday evening in a Powder Springs parking lot, police said Monday. Powder Springs Police said officers responded around 6:30 p.m. to the 4400 block of Brownsville Road after a fight involving several juveniles led to the fatal stabbing. When officers arrived, a crowd of mostly juveniles surrounded the entrance of a nearby restaurant. Police said they arrived at Brownsville for the purpose of fighting.

The alert was issued Thursday due to rare ground beef products sold by Bismillah Halal Meats, a Marietta-based butcher shop at Powers Ferry Road. Federal officials said the ground beef may contain Escherichia coli, commonly known as E. Coli. The impacted products have been pulled from shelves but were sold from April 10-23 by Bismillah, federal officials said. They discovered the contamination of E. Coli from a sample that was collected and analyzed, federal officials said.

DUNWOODY, GA — The man accused in a hit-and-run that recently injured another man at a pub has surrendered, Dunwoody Police said Monday. Police said Sheldon Mayers, of Chamblee, turned himself in around 10 p.m. Wednesday at the DeKalb County Jail in connection with the Ashford Dunwoody Road incident. The man injured in the hit-and-run was hospitalized and is in stable condition, police said.
