LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Lincoln man has been sentenced to more than 80 years in prison for sexually abusing a 4-year-old boy. Bradley Geiger, 53, received a sentence of 80 to 84 years after pleading no contest to reduced felony charges. He was originally charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child and was given credit for 292 days already served.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A former Lincoln special education teacher accused of child abuse says she’s not guilty. Hilary Everett, 43, entered a written plea of not guilty in Lancaster County District Court last week. She was charged in March with one count of felony child abuse resulting in no injury. Everett was arrested on March 18 after coworkers reported her for allegedly abusing three young boys at Beattie Elementary School.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A York woman was charged with felony child abuse after a child was heard screaming for help from an apartment earlier this month. Victoria Slama, 45, was arrested May 4 after a witness told police they heard a child yelling out the window of the Del Ray Plaza apartments. The boy cried out, saying his mother was beating him and throwing him against a wall, according to an arrest affidavit. Neighbors also reported hearing pounding and shouting coming from inside the apartment.

COZAD, Neb. (KSNB) - The family of a Dawson County couple and their two sons, who died over the weekend in a triple murder-suicide, say years of mental health struggles and gaps in care contributed to the tragedy. According to the Nebraska State Patrol, it is believed that Jeremy Koch, 42, killed each of his sons, Hudson, 18, and Asher, 16, and his wife, Bailey, 41, before taking his own life. All four were found with fatal knife wounds. A knife was found at the scene.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Lincoln City Council candidate was cited for electioneering after police say he asked voters to support him while inside a polling location during the city’s general election on May 6. According to Lincoln Police, Maher Aurang Zeb entered Pound Middle School, a designated polling site, and filmed himself saying, “Vote for me, vote for Zeb.” The video was later posted to his Facebook page. An election commissioner inspector reported the incident to police.
