SAUK CITY (WKOW) -- A seat has opened up on the Sauk Prairie School District Board of Education. Tyler Erickson won the election for the seat, but in a Facebook post, the district says because of changes in his work as a firefighter/paramedic, he's unable to take the seat. The school board is asking people who live in either the Village of Sauk City or Prairie du Sac to apply, but the deadline is Friday, April 25.

OZAUKEE COUNTY (WKOW) -- says a pair of beloved and endangered peregrine falcons in Wisconsin have died, likely from the bird flu. Brinn was found dead in a nest box in Port Washington. Her mate for eight years, Beasley, has not returned to the nest box since a few days after Brinn's death. He is believed to have also died. They had been nesting at the Port Washington Generating Station since 2014.

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Great Wisconsin Birdathon kicks off next week. It's the largest bird conservation fundraiser in the state. Teams can participate any day from April 15 to June 15, and donations are accepted until the end of June. The focus of this Birdathon is not on who can find or identify the most species; it's more about coming together to support and appreciate Wisconsin’s birds. There's no cost to join, and how and when you bird is up to you.

Pay is $18 an hour and you have to work at least three shifts across a variety of roles, from Draft Experience ambassadors and wayfinders to field goal kick assistants, 40-yard dash crew and hospitality team members.

Applications will be accepted until Sunday, May 4, at 11:59 p.m.The purpose of the WAC is to assist the DNR with the implementation of the Wisconsin Wolf Management Plan.
