JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — The Jacksonville City Council voted this week to approve the sale of the Profile Cotton Mill. Benjamin Nunnally, who is the spokesperson for the city, confirmed that the part of the building owned by the city will now be sold to K&D Adventures, LLC and Kevin Steward for demolition and removal. According to the Alabama Historical Commission marker, the Profile Cotton Mill dates back to 1905.

HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WIAT) — All the wet weather has kept tree removal companies in central Alabama very busy this month. CBS 42 News met up with Brothers Tree Service in Homewood after a 40-foot tree came down. Thankfully, the tree was not located near the house. Other folks have not been so lucky this month. A tree expert we spoke with said there are steps you can take to try and prevent damage to your home.
