SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) — Residents on Saint Regis Street in San Jose woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of a car crashing in their houses. Someone driving a black Lexus sedan slammed into two homes just after midnight Friday and caused “significant damage,” police said. The hit-and-run driver bolted out of the Lexus on foot and evaded arrest. Resident Emily Parrot and her husband were sleeping in their upstairs bedroom when the car hit their house.

OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) — Confusion and uncertainty is swirling around the status of Oakland Unified School District Superintendent Kyla Johnson-Trammell. OUSD Board of Education trustees held a closed session meeting Wednesday night. One board member claims a vote was held and passed that will force Oakland’s top public educator out of her job by the end of June. A closed session agenda item stated “public employment discipline, dismissal, release,” but did not name the OUSD employee.
