NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) — A 13-year-old boy died after a car accident Sunday in Newark, N.J., according to officials. The accident happened near Clifton Avenue and Montclair Avenue. A GoFundMe set up by the family identified the boy as Edwin Ivan Martinez. Estephani Barraza said she is still in disbelief that her 13-year-old cousin is gone forever. The 2024 Lunar New Year Parade transformed the streets of Chinatown with the sights and sounds of Asian culture and pride. “I feel happy to be a part of this community, and I enjoy it a lot,” said Matthew Leiw. An estimated 500,000 people joined to see the floats, performances, and colorful costumes. The parade has been around for 26 years.
